Terms of Service
Plain-language terms for using North Signal. Last updated: July 5, 2026.
1. The service
North Signal measures how AI answer engines represent brands, diagnoses visibility gaps, prescribes fixes, and tests them with controlled experiments. Measurements are estimates of non-deterministic systems and are presented with confidence intervals; they are decision support, not guarantees of outcomes.
2. Accounts & acceptable use
You are responsible for your account and for the content you submit. You agree not to use North Signal to manufacture fake consensus, plant hidden or injected text, fabricate reviews, or otherwise manipulate AI systems deceptively — we decline to prescribe those tactics and we decline to host them. Fair-use limits apply per plan; abuse of free analysis may be throttled.
3. Your data
Your project data belongs to you. You can export all of it at any time (JSON/CSV) and delete it permanently with one action — see the Privacy & Compliance page for the full posture, processors, and retention controls.
4. Aggregated benchmarking data
To make North Signal's prescriptions smarter over time, we may use anonymized, aggregated measurement data across customers — for example, which fixes moved answer share in a given industry, or which prompt patterns produce divergent engine behavior. Aggregates never include your brand name, domain, prompt text attributable to you, or any content identifying you or your customers, and are never sold as raw data. Deleting your project removes your records from future aggregation. If you are on an Enterprise agreement, that agreement's data terms take precedence and may exclude aggregation entirely.
5. Billing
Paid plans bill via Stripe monthly or yearly and renew until cancelled; cancelling downgrades you to the free tier at period end. Prices may change with notice; never retroactively.
6. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is." AI engines change without notice and past lift does not guarantee future visibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.
